Sino-French collaboration
The PIRVE programme contributes to the international collaboration initiative between the CNRS Ecology and Environment Institute (INEE) and the Chinese Academy of Science (CAS). Several actions have been undertaken as part of this partnerhips: a first scientific mission in Shanghai in January 2008, a communication to the Sino-French Conference of Paris in September 2008, a second scientific mission in Beijing and a contribution to a Sino-French workshop on ‘City and Environment’ in March 2009. Finally, the PIRVE was responsible for the scientific organisation of the French side of the Sino-French research seminar that took place at the Institute of Urban Environment (CAS-IUE) of Xiamen. During this English-speaking event, communications have been presented in three thematic sessions:
- The urban environment as a living environment
- Urban metabolism
- Urban foresight and urban futures
The next Sino-French workshop will be held on March 14, 2011 in Paris (LADYSS laboratory) with CNRS and CAS representatives.
